What it is
Towns is a messaging protocol and app for private groups. Members pay to join, membership lives on-chain, and the financial tools a group actually uses are part of the chat rather than bolted onto it.
Problem
Online groups have nowhere to put the conversation and the money in the same place. Today they stitch together bots and outside tools: talk about a trade in the chat, execute it somewhere else, then watch the result get posted back. Towns collapses that into one surface.
My role
Head of Product and Design. I set strategy and roadmap, designed both apps, and worked closely with engineering to ship. I was also the brand designer and led all creative.
Outcome
Over $35M in protocol revenue, 445k+ spaces created, and 1.63M memberships shortly after launch, with WAU/MAU holding at 70%.
